~ Baby Wipes - To clean facial folds, inside ears, other area's.
~ Aveeno Diaper Rash Cream - To keep tear stain area's dry & apply under a nose rope.
~ Cottage Cheese, Scrambled Eggs, Plain (non-flavored) Yogurt - Good to mix in their food for a treat.
~ Brown rice with Boiled chicken or boiled ground beef - Good to help settle their stomach if they have had upset stomach.
~ You can freeze low-sodium chicken broth in ice cube trays in your freezer for a yummy summer treat and give it to them.
~ A Couple of Tablespoons of raw (yes, raw.) Hamburger, turkey, ground up chicken meat. Or raw gizards, heart's in moderation! - Please keep in MIND when feeding raw - Dog's have different digestive enzymes than us humans do, and when feeding kibble for *year's* and THEN should you decide to give them a few raw bites, prepare 1st. for them to WANT more of what their Nature suggests they should have & It's something in raw form and tasty and different for them from their dry kibble. (What dog doesnt want more of their natural diet??) - The dry kibble isn't as pure as ANYTHING RAW. PLEASE PLEASE research the "BARF" Diet ! Better yet.. RAW feeding in moderation to your dog's. We have, and we are VERY happy with the result's !! - I know what you're thinking....... (Ewwwww! - Raw GROSS!!) However, Please, Don't knock it until you HAVE researched AND TRIED IT --THEN -- come back to me. They also sell prepackaged raw patties that you can feed your dog:

~ NO puppy food after 6 months of age as this causes them to grow to fast, Switch them over to adult food after 6 months old.
~ Remember Bulldogs CANNOT swim, They sink like bricks! If your Bulldog is around water make sure you have them a doggy life jacket on, They enjoy a baby pool the kind you buy at Walmart for around $10 to play in during the summer, Fill it almost halfway with water and toss some balls in there or other toys for their enjoyment.
~ NEVER give them ICE cold water to drink, the super cold water causes their throat to constrict and can interfere with their airway, It may also cause bloat.
~ Bulldogs can do what they call a "Reverse Sneeze" which, If you've never experianced this it can be alarming at first because it appears as if they cannot breathe and are struggling for air, Please take a moment and Google: "Reverse Sneeze - Bulldogs" and you will find more information about it, In the meantime take a look at a reverse sneeze in a Boston terrier on YouTube:

~ If your Bulldog eats too fast, which many can tend to do, I would recommend a bowl called "Brake-Fast" bowl... They can be bought online or at PetSmart, PetCo.. This causes them to have to eat slower and reduces the chance of bloat.
~ You can use Johnson & Johnson's Baby Shampoo on your puppy as this will not sting their eye's IF you get it in them.. When they get older Head & Shoulders is a good shampoo for their skin OR an Oatmeal type of Shampoo is also good.
~ If they tend to have a dry flakey coat when they get older, Add a fish oil pill into their food once a day, Just cut the top off and squirt it into their food.
~ I would advise against the Rabies shot until they are 6 months old.
~ We use "Interceptor" for Heartworm Prevention and have for many years with great success & we recommend this.
~ We use "Promeris" & "Frontline Plus" for Flea & Tick prevention and recommend either one of them.
~ If you're ever un-sure of anything, Please don't hesitate to call or email me, I am there for the life of your Bulldog or even to answer question's pertaining to them even IF you didn't purchase them from me. I will do my best to help you anyway I can, I love this beautiful breed.
~ Bulldogs ARE very smart they want nothing more than to give love & receive it, They catch on pretty quickly to things you teach them, But be wise & let them be your teacher aswell and try to learn how THEY are! Have an open mind.
~ Finding a Vet that has a large Bulldog clientelle is highly important, Check out my links page and click on the Google Map for Vet's.
I love my little puppy; she makes my house a home.
She is my very sweetest little friend; I never feel alone.
She makes me smile; She makes me laugh; She fills my heart with love . . .
Did some person breed her, or did she fall from above?
I've never been a breeder, never seen life through their eyes;
I hold my little puppy and just sit and criticize.
I've never known their anguish; I've never felt their pain,
the caring of their charges, through snow or wind or rain.
I've never waited the whole night through for babies to be born,
The stress and trepidation when they're still not there by morn.
The weight of responsibility for this body in my hands,
this darling little baby, who weighs but 60 grams.
Should you do that instead of this . . . or maybe that was wrong?
Alone you fight and hope, one day, he'll grow up proud and strong.
You pray he'll live to bring great joy to someone else's home.
You know it's all just up to you; you'll fight this fight alone.
Formula, bottles, heating pads, you've got to get this right,
two-hour feedings for this tiny guy, throughout the day and night.
Within your heart you dread that you will surely lose this fight,
To save this little baby, but God willing . . . you just MIGHT.
Day one; he's in there fighting; you say a silent prayer.
Day two & three, he's doing well, with lots of love and care.
Day four & five . . . he's still alive; your hopes soar to the heavens.
Day six he slips away again, dies in your hands, day seven.
You take this little angel, and bury him alone.
With aching heart and burning tears, and an exhausted groan,
You ask yourself, "Why do this? . . . Why suffer through this pain?"
Yet watch the joy your puppies bring, and everything's explained.
So, when you think of breeders and label them with "Greed,"
Think of all that they endure to fill another's need.
For when you buy your puppy, and with your precious dollars part,
You only pay with money . . . while they pay with all their heart.
